Take a look at the Marienfeld where the main concluding masses will take place on Aug 20 and 21.  We have prepared a photo-page for you.
German perfectionism or simple reason? Everything has been worked out to detail - since years.

Pilgrims will not be moving freely on Marienfeld but they are assigned special areas along with their groups they are with. Lastminute visitors will be standing way behind - hundreds of meters from the hill with the altar.


As long as the huge video screens are not erected, the hundreds of makeshift toilets dominate the picture on the plain field.
 

From  far  away, the "Pope hill " looks rather like a UFO.
